这几年，我与崔见交往甚多，常常见面，而更多见的是他的画作与展览。中国有个成语叫做“熟视无睹”，意思是见多了、看惯了，就会产生视觉疲劳，甚至像没看见一样。但是，我每次看崔见的画，全然没有这样的感觉，总有新的发现、新的感受、新的激动。
　　那么，我从崔见的画中见到了什么呢？
　　崔见以山水画见长，绘画的对象大都为自然风景。他的笔下，透出对自然的崇拜与尊重，但又不是那种纯客观、纯自然的表达，而是具有强烈主观意识的自然流露。《南京东郊风景》、《东方新风景》等一系列作品，既有虚实相间、错落有致的线条和简淡轻松、宁静安谧的画面，又有淋漓尽致、快捷激荡的笔势和铺天盖地、丰富多变的布局，既是作者内心的深切感受，又是作者内心的热情表达，给人以动静相宜、清新潇丽、自由洒脱的美感。
　　崔见的画“只见山水不见人”，但我们又分明在他画面中见到了人，见到了他本人。清代刘熙载在《艺慨·书慨》中说：“书，如也。如其学、如其才、如其志。总之曰如其人而已。”书是这样，画亦如此。崔见有着艺术家的气质，随意、洒脱、热情、执着，是个性情中人。性情造就风格。风格就是人，人就是风格。崔见的性情和性格，直接表现在他的绘画作品中，形成了自己独特的艺术风格，其水墨线条和图像程式，是在高度技法规范下的性情自由和精神兴奋，是在自然景物中的主观色彩和个性表达。
　　我们还能从崔见的作品中见到他的艺术思想与艺术追求。我一直认为，一位优秀的艺术家，不仅要有扎实的功底，更要有自己的思想、有自己的追求。崔见是有思想、有追求的。山水是自然的，风景是人文的。自然是客观的，人文是主观的。崔见把自己的画称之为风景而非山水，他所追求的是自然而非自然。从中我们不难体悟到他的艺术思想和艺术追求，那就是：纵贯古今，横连东西，主客相融、物我两忘。多年来，崔见正是这样去实践、去追求的。
　　自然而然，自然而不然。我们热情期待崔见在自然而然中进行艺术创作，在自然而不然中进行创新与探索，让我们不断见到他的新风景、新成果、新高峰。

　　Naturally But Not Nature
　　——What can we see from the paintings of Cui Jian?
　　For this several days, I has associated with Cui Jian a lot, and met him usually, however, most of which is his paintings and exhibitions. There is one idiom in China, that is "turn a blind eye to a familiar sight", which means that if see for many times, you will have visual fatigues, so far as to seem as never see them yet. But every time, when I see the paintings of Cui Jian, there is no any this kind of feelings at all, instead, new discovery, new feeling and new agitation will be generated.
　　So, what has been I see from the paintings of Cui Jian?
　　Cui Jian is good at mountains-and-waters paintings, the painting objects mostly are natural sceneries. He expresses some worships and respects for the nature, which are not the show of pure objectives and pure nature however, but kinds of natural reveal of intense subjective consciousness instead. Series of works, such as Scenery of East Suburb in Nanjing, Oriental New Scenery, and so on, not only have empty and full, well-proportioned lines, simple and relaxed and tranquil pictures,
　　but also have incisive and vivid and agitated handwriting with overwhelming and abundant and versatile distribution, which are not only the deep feelings in the heart of the author, but also the passionate express from the heart of the author as well, showing the beautiful feelings of appropriate moving and motionlessness, fresh and free and easy.
　　The paintings of Cui Jian are "Only see mountains-and-waters but not people", but we actually and obviously see the right person in his paintings, and see him. In Qing Dynasty, Liu Xizai said in Art Touch & Book Touch: "Book, here it is, just like the one's study, talent and will. All of them tell us about this person right there generally speaking". That is of book, and thus such as paintings. As a nice man, Cui Jian has the temperament of artist at will with easygoing, passionate and insistent. Temperament creates his style. Style is this person, and this person is his style. The temperament and character of Cui Jian's directly expresses in this painting works, which shape his own unique artistic style; the Chinese ink painting lines and picture patterns are the show of free temperament and mental excitement under the standard and outstanding skills, and the subjective colors and characteristic expression in the natural scenes as well.
　　What's more, we can see Cui Jian's artistic idea and artistic pursuit from his works. I always consider that a splendid artist should not only have solid foundation, but also have his own ideas and pursuits. Cui Jian has his own idea and his own pursuit. Mountains and waters are of nature, and scenery is humane. The nature is objective, but humane is subjective. Cui Jian deems his paintings as the scenery but not mountains and waters, he pursues naturally but not nature. Hereinto, it is not difficult to realize his artistic idea and artistic pursuit, that is, passing through from north to south or from south to north, connecting with all kinds of matters, mixing objective with subjective and forgetting everything. For many years, Cui Jian has been exactly thus practiced and pursued.
　　He acts naturally but not nature. We are looking forward to seeing the artistic creation in the nature with enthusiasm, and handling innovation and exploration in the nature, so that we can enjoy his new scenery, new achievement and new peak continually.
